One Nil to the Arsenal

So the day that all Arsenal fan's were waiting for finally arrived on the 9th January 2012, the return of Thierry Henry. Only weeks before a statue of the all time leading scored was unveiled outside The Emirates and his comeback has put him right back into the record books.

He was named on the bench for the match against Leeds United, but Arsene Wenger had already told the awaiting fans that he would feature at some point during the game. As the match went on the Arsenal faithful would continue to chant the name of arguably the best player to ever pull on the red and white of The Gunners.

Do you know?

The all time top Goalscorer

It was a scoreless first half and there was rumbles that we might of seen a half time substitution after a lacklustre first period. Then came the moment which brought all of The Emirates to their feet. Henry along with Walcott pulled on their shirts and headed for the sidelines. Henry wearing the number 12 as the man he was coming on with has inherited his number 14 after he departed the club for Barcelona back in 2007.

The 68th minute was when Henry made his second debut for Arsenal coming on for Marouane Chamakh, with an uproar from the crowd he had finally returned. The Gunners started to pick up momentum and looked the more likely to hit the back of the net.

Then with 12 minutes left of normal time the ball was at Song's feet and his wonderful pass found the great run of you guessed it Thierry Henry who took a great first touch and found the back of the net with his second. The crowd went wild, a jubilant Henry sprinted over towards Arsene Wenger to give him a congratulatory hug.

Arsenal managed to close out the game to score a memorable win over Leeds United. Thierry Henry showed his passion and hunger to win and that he isn't done scoring for Arsenal. Even though that was his first goal for Arsenal since his return it is his 227th of all time. Whether he will be able to add to his tally in the rest of his stay at Arsenal is yet to be seen but if he has anything to do about it i bet he will be.

Goals! Goals! Goals!
